John Casey and I both have pieces in the First Annual Postcard Show at Brassworks Gallery in Portland, OR.
This is an amazing lineup of over 800 images from international contributors. Each artist was sent a pack of custom-made, blank postcards on which to work, with no rules or guidelines about what to create.
I decided to go the literal route in making a piece of postcard art, using a classic font handling. “City Bird” was inspired by my favorite Lake Merrit dweller, the black-crowned night heron. He’s a cutie.
